Weston Knox | Nursery re-do | Hush Little Bebe Designs

There's that bitter sweet realization, when you've lowered the crib mattress + packed away the crib bumpers that graduates your little from infant to toddler.

I had been wanting to re-do Weston's Infamous Pinterest Pinned nursery for what felt like ever, and really drew inspiration from a custom made quilt from Hush Little Bebe Designs.

Almost every piece in his room was given a fresh coat of paint or some sort of new transformation to match the big boy nursery!

These letters sure have come a long way!

a peak at the set up

The crib sheet was also custom made by the same company; Hush Little Bebe Designs to match his room!

As I'm preparing to also transition him from a crib to a toddler bed, I can't help but think; He's grown so fast, in such a short amount of time!

I also did a editorial spread for our custom quilt from HLB... and LOVED how some of the shots turned out!

Sweetie & Roo | Blog Feature

Recently, Weston's Nursery was chosen to be embellished with one of Sweetie & Roo's personalized
art pieces!

Now that our little guy is over a year old, the itch is happening for me to start changing out pieces in his adorable nursery!

When I first found out I was pregnant, we found one piece and centered the entire nursery around it.

Our theme is vintage travel (currently) + you can view and read all about the details of most of it here : Weston's Nursery | as seen on PINTEREST

Sweet & Roo makes customized art pieces in a variety of different themes and Lindsay could probably design up anything your heart and mind could imagine.

Our particular piece has W's name + birthdate flying off of a soaring plane.

If you're looking for art to display in your home or even searching for a personalized gift, Sweetie & Roo is the place to go :)

Fun | Oklahoma Style

Over the holiday weekend, we attended a small town Rattlesnake festival.
It was here you could by skins, cooked snakes & even pet the not-so-friendly beasts.
Mostly, we went for the (good) food & rides!

We've became great friends with Emma's BBF @ School & their family.. so there was a nice group of us - pushing babies around & enjoying the sites!

 - I remember these rides as a kid & how "cool" they were!

I feel so fortunate I could capture these memories for E to have in the future - wherever that may be!

| i. love. them |

W was such a trooper - although the screeching rides got to him at the end!

(I stole this shot from you ASG)

I cannot WAIT to go to the Texas State Fair!

Come Fly With Me

Weston's Nursery has been a work in progress for almost a year,
 before we were expecting him,
before we moved across the country,
before we knew he - was a him.

We wanted something different, something that wasn't sports, or princesses,
or pink or blue..
a room that wasn't a typical nursery,
because we're not entirely into all the cute-sie baby colors or decor.

With that in mind, we chose a Travel Theme & found this canvas map of the United States
with colors we loved & started collecting pieces to match it.

The chalk board above was an antique mirror originally purchased for Emma's vanity,
once it broke, we de-mirror'd it and painted it to coordinate with the nursery.

With the map's color scheme we matched paint for the
dresser and found accessories in stores,
at antique malls & estate sales across the country.

Before I ever got a positive,
I also began collecting cloth diapers in every brand imaginable.
(more on those later)

We've never painted as much in our lives as we did preparing this nursery;
the dresser, the crib, plane mobile, (soon to be) monogram'd canvases & the name letters!

Weston's Mobile was created by hanging vintage toy planes (painted to match the nursery)
with clear fishing line to embroidery hoops & then stringing them from tiny hooks in the ceiling..

::the vintage baby scale came all the way from Brooklyn,NY::

I wanted giant (even bigger than here) letters for his room,
but with a lack of wall space these were the biggest I could have.
These were hand painted, then hung together with ribbon
& eventually attached to the ceiling with a hook.

I chose this vertical configuration vs a standard horizontal wall decoration
to brighten up a corner and save space for other prints!

Painting these letters was a total labor of love.

I scored this lamp on a clearance at Target, it couldn't have fit more perfectly!

The wooden camera can be found on Etsy & Vintage Kodak is part of my personal collection :)

{sweet W looks SO much like daddy there}

We collected prints from all over as well
and think these are some great rules to live by for all gentlemen,
regardless of age!

Weston's Nursery will always be a work in progress, I envision it morphing from a Vintage Travel to a Vintage Circus theme over the next few years as well.. who doesn't love circus tents & hot air balloons?
